The DEER study aims to explore how preadolescent children define resilience, track the development of resilience, and assess the contributory factors to differences in resilience pathways over time. Participants were recruited from 10 primary schools across 5 boroughs in East London, United Kingdom, and include children in Years 3 to 5 (7 to 11 years old). Over 800 children completed baseline data collection at school between October 2022 and December 2023. Parents or carers complete a set of web-based questionnaires each year, and teachers complete a paper questionnaire for each child enrolled in the study. Annual follow-up is planned until at least June 2027.
