The Danish Cardiac Arrest Registry/Dansk Hjertestopregister (DHSR) aims to monitor the quality of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest treatment and evaluate initiatives regarding prehospital treatment of cardiac arrests. Since 2001, the registry has collected data on all patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in Denmark treated by the emergency medical services in whom resuscitation or defibrillation has been attempted. As of 2020, the DHSR has collected data on 57,000 patients, with approximately 3.600 new individuals registered each year. Patients are followed for survival for 30 days and 1 year after the cardiac arrest.
