Sample details

The DONALD Study investigates the relationships between nutrition, growth, development, and metabolism, involving participants from Dortmund and surrounding communities in Germany. Participants were recruited starting in 1985, and the cohort initially included approximately 640 healthy children and adolescents. Over the years, the study has continued to enrol more infant participants, reaching over 2,000 as of 2023. Participants are followed up annually, with additional visits in the first two years of life, and the study plans to continue these follow-ups until young adulthood.
