The goal of the DYCE study is to describe the circumstances around sexual and reproductive health decisions to inform interventions aiming to reduce the unmet need for contraception and increase human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention behaviours. The study is conducting computer-assisted telephone interviews (i.e., interviewers administering the survey with the assistance of computer software to record the data) with adolescent girls and young women (ages 18 to 24) in Eswatini every 2 weeks for 2 years (52 surveys) from 2021 to 2026 to inquire about contraceptive use and HIV prevention.
