Sample details

The DZIF Tx-Cohort investigates the impact of infections on transplant function and survival in a German cohort of transplant patients. The cohort recruits patients of all ages who have received heart, kidney, lung, liver, pancreas, or stem cell transplants from five university hospitals across Germany. As of June 2024, over 2,000 patients had completed baseline data collection. Follow-ups are carried out at three-month intervals in the first year after the transplant and yearly in the following years. Participants are also followed each time they visit a health centre for a complication related to the transplant.
