Sample details

The ECHILD-MB cohort is a linked cohort combining data from the National Health Service (NHS) Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) with the National Pupil Database in England, United Kingdom. Over 13 million birth records from HES between 1 April 1997 and 31 January 2022 have been linked to delivery records of over 8 million mothers to aid investigation of the intergenerational effects of maternal exposures before and during pregnancy. The cohort is nested within the ECHILD database, which links routinely collected administrative data on health and education for children and young people in England.
