Sample details

The EDDC aims to monitor patient presentations and the activity undertaken in the Emergency Departments of public hospitals and in scope contracted private hospitals in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Over 46 million records are included in the dataset. Each record is a presentation to the emergency department in NSW for care and treatment. The registry began in 1994, and personal identifiers were included in data collection in 2005. The dataset can be linked to other government and health data through the NSW Government Centre for Health Record Linkage (CHeReL).
