This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of Geosocial Networking (GSN) apps’ users and to determine the association and putative mechanisms between GSN apps’ use behaviour and Human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV) incidence. Between March 2015 and December 2016, a total of 761 men who have sex with men (MSM), aged 18 years or over, and living in Shenyang, China, were recruited. All participants were followed up at 3-month intervals for 18 months after initial baseline screening.
