BACK
Sample details

The EIS investigated the factors that contribute to the low level of family planning use in individuals in Assuit and Souhag governorates in Upper Egypt. The EIS cohort included over 2,500 female respondents of the 1995 Egypt Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) who were currently married and aged 15 to 44 years. In 1996 and 1997, two rounds of follow-up interviews were conducted. In the second round of the EIS, a subsample of husbands of the women was cross-sectionally interviewed.
