Elderly ELEFANT investigates how environmental exposures and lifestyle factors affect metabolic health and non-communicable diseases in older adults. This cohort is part of the larger Environmental and LifEstyle FActors iN metabolic health throughout life-course Trajectories (ELEFANT) project. Participants are aged at least 61 years and are residents of Tianjin, China. At baseline the study included over 6,000 participants with a mean age of 66 years. The cohort is followed up annually to monitor changes in their health and lifestyle.
