Sample details

ELS:2002 follows a nationally representative cohort of 10th-graders in 2002 and 12th-graders in 2004, United States of America. The study is designed to monitor the transition of a national sample of young people as they progress from 10th grade through high school and on to postsecondary education, the world of work, or both. The first follow-up occurred in 2004; high school transcripts were obtained in 2005. The second follow-up occurred in 2006, and the third follow-up occurred in 2012. Post-secondary transcripts were then obtained in 2013.
