Sample details

The ELSPAC-IOM Study began in 1990 when every mother expecting a baby to be born on the Isle of Man during the 18 months between 1st January 1991 and 30th June 1992 was invited to join the study (1,400 mothers). A total of 1,314 livebirths formed the eligible cohort. Questionnaires were completed by mothers and their partners during pregnancy and subsequently when the child was 6 weeks, 6 months, 18 months, 3, 5, 7, and 15/16 years old by parents, teachers, and the child. Data collection ended in 2008.
