BACK
Sample details

The EMPOWER-1 study sample comprises patients diagnosed with specific physical and mental illnesses like cancer or depression, or National Health Service (NHS) patients associated with participating study sites in the UK. Participants were primarily from the three main ethnic groups in the UK; namely White (Caucasian), African-Caribbean (Black), and South Asian (Asian) populations on a 1:1:1 ratio. All participants were registered with the NHS for care, have a lack of capacity without an illness under investigation, and a lack of capacity without advice from a personal consultee.
