Sample details

The Engage Cohort Study follows over 2,000 gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men across 3 sites in Canada: Toronto, Montréal, and Vancouver. Eligible participants were 16 years of age or more, gender-identified as a man (including trans men), reported sexual activity with a man in the previous 6 months, and were able to read English or French. Participants were recruited using respondent-driven sampling; nonrandomly selected initial participants recruit other eligible participants through their social networks.
