EPIC-InterAct is a case-cohort study of over 12,000 incident type 2 diabetes cases occurring between 1991 and 2007. Cases occurred within 8 of the 10 countries included in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC): Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, a sub-cohort of over 16,000 participants was randomly selected from EPIC participants with available stored blood samples.
