Sample details

EPIC-Europe studies different populations from countries across Europe. EPIC-Oxford aims to examine how diet influences the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. The EPIC-Oxford cohort comprises over 65,000 participants aged 20 to 97 years with a wide range of diets, living throughout the United Kingdom, recruited between 1993 and 2000. Participants were assessed at recruitment, and 5, 10 and 15 years after recruitment, and are also followed via record linkage. The study plans to resurvey participants and recruit 80,000 new participants to increase the number of participants following plant-based diets.
