The study follows a cohort of around 4,300 young people who started secondary school in the City of Edinburgh, Scotland, in the autumn of 1998. The participants are linked to police and judicial records with the aim to explore the relationship between young people's development and crime. The study also compares the criminal justice profile of the cohort to the wider Scottish population using administrative data.
