The Evans County Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Study examined differences in incidence of cardiovascular disease across the population of Evans County, Georgia, United States of America. The investigators aimed to include the entire population of the county aged 40 years and above, and half of the population aged between 15 and 39 years. Over 3,100 resident participants were included during initial examinations from 1960-1962. Follow-up examination was conducted from 1967-1969, alongside annual follow-up with participants directly. Multiple sub-studies were also conducted within the study, such as the Lipoprotein Phenotyping Study, the Black-White Neonatal Blood Pressure Study, and the Contraceptive Steroids on Blood Pressure Study.
