FAMAS is a multi-disciplinary population cohort study examining the health and health-related behaviours of 1195 randomly selected men, aged 35–80 years and living in the North West regions of Adelaide. The mean age of the study participants was 55.0 ± 11.6, and eighty-two percent (N = 974) of men were married or living with a partner. Sixty-seven percent (N = 795) of participants were born in Australia. The most frequent countries of birth outside of Australia were the United Kingdom (including North Ireland, Scotland and Wales) & Ireland with 218 participants (18.2%).
