The FHS Gen III cohort investigates tense risk factors and health and disease indicators within families in the United States of America. Participants are adults aged at least 19 years old with at least one parent who was enrolled in the Framingham Offspring study, meaning that they are the grandchildren of the original Framingham Heart Study participants. At baseline, over 4,000 adults ranging from 19 to 72 years were included in the study.
