Sample details

FRADEA aimed to estimate the prevalence of frailty and follow it up over time to analyse associated factors in a population of older Spanish participants. Almost 1,000 participants over the age of 70 years were recruited randomly from a database of health care cardholders in Albacete, Spain. Baseline data collection occurred in person at the Albacete University Hospital Complex from 2007 to 2009. Follow-up data collection was done from 2009 to 2011 (by phone), from 2011 to 2013 (on site), and in 2017 (on site). Follow-up of mortality data was collected via contact with participants and linked death records from 2007 to 2017.
