G1219 is a longitudinal study which followed twin pairs and non-twin sibling pairs growing up in the United Kingdom, and their parents. 2,762 twins (1,381 pairs) were recruited through the Office of National Statistics, and 1,747 siblings (445 pairs) were offspring of participants who took part in a large study of depression called GENESiS. All participants were aged between 12 and 19 years years at the first wave of data collection, and since then, four further waves of data collection occurred.
