Sample details

The GAZEL cohort is designed to facilitate research on noncommunicable diseases and health-related factors. The study recruited workers aged between 35 and 50 years from Électricité de France (EDF) and Gaz de France (GDF) from all over France. Participants were in various positions in the company, including executive, middle, entry, and manual positions. At baseline, over 20,000 participants were in the cohort, approximately 75% of whom were men aged 40 to 50 years. Participants are followed yearly via questionnaires and continuously through national registers.
