Sample details

The GIP investigates individual attitudes and preferences that are relevant in political and economic decision-making processes in a sample of individuals aged 16 to 75 from across Germany. The study began in 2012 with around 1,600 participants, and was supplemented by new participants in 2014 and 2018. As of 2025, there are over 3,500 active participants. Since 2012, surveys have been conducted bi-monthly, with a core wave taking place annually. As of 2025, the GIP is conducting its 80th survey wave.
