The Gobi Desert Children's Eye Study aimed to examine the prevalence and incidence of myopia and its associations in West China. Participants were recruited from all three schools in the oasis city of Ejina, located in the Gobi Desert in Inner Mongolia. The baseline study in 2013 included over 1,500 participants aged 6 to 21, and follow-up assessments were conducted in 2016.
