Sample details

The Gothenburg H70 Birth Cohort Studies (the H70 studies) are multidisciplinary epidemiological studies examining representative birth cohorts of older populations in Gothenburg, Sweden. So far, six birth cohorts of 70-year-olds have been examined over time, and examinations have been virtually identical between studies. Between 1971 and 2014, 70-year old's born in 1901-1902 (cohort 1), 1906-1907 (cohort 2), 1911-1912 (cohort 3), 1922 (cohort 4), 1930 (cohort 5), and 1944 (cohort 6) have been examined in the H70 study. Continuous follow-ups have been performed from the age of 75 years and up until the participants are over 100 years old.
