Sample details

The Gansu Survey of Children and Families (GSCF) studies children's welfare outcomes in China's Gansu province. It is a longitudinal, multi-level study focusing on children's education, health, and psycho-social development. The sample comprises 2,000 representative children drawn from the State Statistical Bureau (SSB) census lists. These children were 11 to 14 years old during the first wave in 2000, which was the age to be enrolled in the later grades of elementary or junior high schools.
