Geriatric HIV Cohort in Sub Sahara Africa (HASA)

The HASA cohort investigates the impact of geriatric syndromes on the quality of life of ageing Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) patients. Participants aged at least 60 years were recruited from the elderly specialist clinic at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. At baseline, 500 participants were included in the cohort, which is followed up annually.
