HAVACS is a prospective, observational study of HIV-positive patients in Atlanta, Canada. All HIV-positive patients ever seen at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center are included in the cohort, with over 4,334 individuals entered into the cohort as of 2016. As of 2016, the patient population was 97.3% male and 72.4% African American/Black, with an average age of 52 years.
