Sample details

The Hepatitis B Research Network (HBRN) was a multicentre network to investigate the aetiology and progression of the disease and to test the safety and efficacy of current treatment approaches. The primary aims of the HBRN Cohort A Study were to describe participants with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and identify predictors of disease activation and progression. Over 1,700 adults who were hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positive completed baseline assessment at 20 clinical sites across the United States of America and one in Ontario, Canada, beginning in 2011. Participants were followed up after 12 weeks, 24 weeks and every 24 weeks thereafter for up to 288 weeks.
