The Health 2011 Survey is a comprehensive national health examination survey on the levels, changes and determinants of health, functional capacity and welfare of the Finnish population. The invitation to take part in the Health 2011 Survey was sent to all persons who had been included in the representative, two-stage stratified, random sample of the national Health 2000 Survey 11 years earlier (N=8,135). A new random sample of persons aged 18–28 years was also drawn (N=1,994). In addition, 920 subjects participating in the Mini-Finland Survey in 1978–1980 and who were invited to a resurvey in 2001 were invited. Data collection for the study was carried out in 2011–2012.
