The Berlin Twin Registry began as a cross-sectional twin study in 1994 and over time developed into a longitudinal follow-up and resource for health research with over 1,700 twin pairs. Some twins have been participating in ongoing studies and others remain part of the registry while opportunities are underway. The ages of twins in the registry range from under 11 to over 71 years, and there is a combination of monozygotic and dizygotic twin pairs. Whenever possible, parents of twins are involved in studies as well.
