Sample details

The HEXA study aims to investigate epidemiologic characteristics, genomic features, and gene-environment interactions of major chronic diseases, including cancer, in the Korean population. Participants were adult males and females aged between 40 and 69 who were recruited between 2004 and 2014 at 38 participating health examination centers and training hospitals located in eight regions of Korea. Between 2004 and 2013, close to 170,000 subjects were recruited for the study. The first wave of follow-up began in 2012 and continued until 2015.
