HKOS follows a cohort of community-dwelling Southern Chinese men and women of Han descent, recruited from public roadshows and health fairs held in various districts of Hong Kong between 1995 and 2010. The sample includes 1,456 participants from 306 families covering 2-4 generations and 7,990 random participants.
