Sample details

The HKU stroke cohort was comprised of almost 1,000 individuals that received a diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke and received an MRI at the Hong Kong University, between March 2008, and September 2014. The participants were followed up every three to six months for five years, unless their diagnosis required closer monitoring. Almost 60% of the cohort were male, with an average age of 69 years.
