Sample details

The HMS is a database of participants with dementia based in Norway. The HMS includes two panels: the 'hospital dementia panel' of 920 patients referred to memory clinics of Nord-Trøndelag and the 'nursing home dementia panel' of 620 patients residing in nursing homes in Nord-Trøndelag. Data for each have been collected via questionnaires and examinations between 1995-2010 and 2010-2011, respectively. These data may be linked to the Nord-Trøndelag Health Study (the HUNT study), which consists of three large population based health surveys that took place in 1984-1986 (HUNT1), 1995-1997 (HUNT2) and 2006-2008 (HUNT3).
