Hodal Demographic Surveillance System (Hodal DSS)

The Hodal DSS was established in the Hodal Block of the Palwal District, India, to evaluate pregnancy risk factors and their association with adverse pregnancy and infant outcomes. Over 199,000 individuals from 36,560 households within the catchment area were enrolled in the Hodal DSS. Baseline data was collected from July 2021 to May 2022, with a follow-up round conducted from May 2023 to September 2023. Quarterly pregnancy surveillance rounds were also completed between the 2 rounds of data collection.
