The HOST Study aims to investigate bone mineral density and bone microarchitecture in people living with HIV. Between October 2017 and May 2018, HOST recruited Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infected adults who were either aged at least 40 years or met two of the following criteria: genetic predisposition to osteoporosis, previous fragility fracture, current smoker, excessive alcohol user, systemic corticosteroid user, early menopause, body mass index (BMI) larger than 19 or coinfection with Hepatitis B virus or Hepatitis C virus. 160 patients completed the baseline data collection.
