The HSS aims to provide information on the labour markets and socioeconomic characteristics of the population of Venezuela, South America, in the inter-census periods. Since 1967, a household member aged 15 years and older has been interviewed from a selection of households across Venezuela every 6 months. Approximately 38,000 households have completed the survey, and each sampling unit is interviewed a maximum of 6 times before they are rotated out, and a new sampling unit is introduced.
