Sample details

The IAB-Wellcome study explores the social context and health of young Syrian migrants on their arrival into Germany and the process of integration into German society. The study recruited approximately 8,600 Syrian refugees who had arrived in Germany between 2014 and 2016, aged 18 to 24 years old, drawn from the German Federal Employment Services (Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA)) registry. Participants were followed up through multiple waves, as well as through linkage to the BA registry. The study was conducted between 2015 and 2024.
