The IAPT dataset collects data on service use of National Health Service (NHS) funded adult Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services across England. The data covers all people accessing adult IAPT for anxiety disorders and depression from NHS Mental Health Trusts, NHS Acute Trusts, NHS Community Health Trusts, and Independent and third-sector healthcare providers who accept NHS patients. In 2012, the dataset included over 800,000 referred service users, of whom over 400,000 entered treatment. In the 2023/2024 year, the dataset included over 1.8 million referrals, of whom over 1.2 million entered treatment. On average, service users had eight treatment sessions before discharge.
