Sample details

The ICKD is a prospective cohort study aiming to identify risk factors for progression of chronic kidney disease, and the development of end-stage renal disease and cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease patients. Over 2,200 participants with mild to moderate renal dysfunction have been recruited into the study as of September 2017 from outpatient clinics at 9 participating centres across India. Participants were aged 18 to 70 years old upon entry into the study, with a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease and a clinically stable course over the preceding 3 months. Follow-up was planned every 6 months by telephone, with visits scheduled every 12 months for the collection of biological samples.
