Sample details

The Intergenerational Exchange project is one of the Timescapes qualitative longitudinal studies. This project investigated how grandparents in low-income areas support and care for their grandchildren in order to improve their life chances. Four rounds of in-depth life history interviews were conducted over two years with a sample of 11 mid-life grandparents (35-60 years old) from eight families based in a low-income estate in the north of England.
