Sample details

IMAS is a large-scale interdisciplinary project that aims to generate knowledge about different aspects of sickness absence and disability pension in Sweden. The dataset includes data linked from different nationwide registers administered by Statistics Sweden, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and Region Stockholm. IMAS contains linked microdata for eight different population-based cohorts from various time periods, encompassing a total of over 14 million people across several generations, including some who are deceased or have emigrated. Participants are followed both retrospectively and prospectively, with data available since 1961. Several different studies using this data have been conducted or are ongoing.
