The INMA Study is a prospective population-based cohort study of pregnant women and children in seven Spanish study sites (Riera d’Ebre, Menorca, Granada, Valencia, Sabadell, Asturias, and Gipuzkoa). Each cohort has small variations in the visits, although the key ones have been made in all cohorts (pregnancy, childbirth, at age 1, and at age 4). Pregnant women in the study were all 16 years of age or older, had a singleton pregnancy, did not receive assisted reproduction techniques, planned to give birth in the reference hospital, and were able to communicate Spanish, Catalan, Basque or Valencian.
