The JACC Study was a large-scale prospective study that investigated the risk factors of cancer in a cohort of nearly 111,000 participants aged 40 to 79 years old from across Japan. Around 127,500 healthy inhabitants from 7 regions within Japan were enrolled after completing baseline in 1988-1990. Of the participants who completed baseline, participants aged 40 to 79 years were selected for long-term follow-up. This cohort were followed for up to 20 years through linkage and follow-up surveys until 2009.
