Sample details

JAGES is a population-based, gerontological, and nationwide survey in Japan focused on social determinants of health and the social environment. It was developed from a smaller survey called the Aichi Gerontological Evaluation Survey (AGES), which was performed in two municipalities in Aichi prefecture in 1999. The project was renamed JAGES in 2010. Since 2010, the JAGES project has conducted surveys every three years, with the 2019 survey collecting data from 66 cities, towns, and villages from approximately 265,000 people.
