JFIBS is designed to study people’s childbearing desire, fertility intention, and childbearing behavior under the local birth planning policy in Jiangsu Province, China. It aims to understand how social, economic, policy, and institutional factors affect people’s fertility decisions with a two-wave longitudinal design. The surveys took place in six counties/cities in three regions of Jiangsu Province in January 2007 and January 2010.
