Journeys Home is a national survey about the living and housing challenges of Australians. Commencing in September 2011, almost 1,700 Australians who were either homeless or identified by Social Services as at high risk of becoming homeless were surveyed over a two-and-a-half-year period. The study aimed to improve understanding of the diverse social, economic, and personal factors related to homelessness and the risk of becoming homeless. The fieldwork survey for Wave 1 was conducted between September and November 2011, with five follow-up surveys conducted at six-monthly intervals. The final survey (for Wave 6) was completed in May 2014.
