The Kangbuk Samsung Health Study is a cohort study of South Korean men and women, 18 years of age or older, who underwent a comprehensive annual or biennial health examination at the clinics of the Kangbuk Samsung Hospital Health Screening Center in Seoul and Suwon, South Korea, from 2002 to 2010. At baseline, over 50,000 participants were included in the sample, and recruitment into the cohort is ongoing. The average age of study participants at baseline was 38.0 years, and 64.8% of them were men. In total, the cohort now includes around 290,000 patients with 690,000 visits.
